A Short Gateway Among 👭👭+👬+👫

          Let's start explore the south-west Penang - Balik Pulau. it's a busy market town with a strip of charming old shop-houses surrounded by the rice fields, durian trees, clove and nutmeg orchards. Balik Pulau can be known as a sleepy fishing village and one of the Penang's loveliest beaches. It's also mean as "on the other side of the island". 

First, let start with the meal - Brunch. 

Location: Balik Pulau Food Court, Jalan Tun Sardon, Kompleks Pasar Awam, 

Taman Balik Pulau, 11000 Balik Pulau, Penang.

Next, continue the brunch - Laksa. And visit the street art painting in mian road of Balik Pulau.

       After that, we went to the Church of the Holy Name of Jesus. It's was a colonial-style church in Balik Pulau. This church was built in 1854, making it one of the older churches in Penang. However, the beginning of this church can be traced even earlier, to 1845, when the first parish priest, Reverent Fr. Ducotey held the inaugural Eucharist at a then attap hut.

          Next station - Balik Pulau International Art Village. This art village has be started by Mr David Goh, the owner of Penang Butterfly Park and actively promoted the village as an artist program to the public even internationally. 

Location: No.466, Jalan Mukim 4, Ayer Puteh, Balik Pulau, Penang. 

          Follow by - Ghee Hup Nutmeg Factory. The factory is managing and runninng by a 79 years old man named Chang Kun Mim, together with his family members. The surrounding was be covered by the nutmeg trees and also some durian tree. Ghee Hup Nutmeg Factory is the main factory that produce nutmeg products and distribute to all the oulets and shop lots is Penang since year 1953. Nutmeg products are usally good for health as Mr,Chang mentions, the products such as the nutmeg juice, nutmeg balm, nutmeg oil and etc. 

Location: 202-A, Mk3, Sungai Pinang, 11010 Balik Pulau, Penang. 

          One of the Penang's loveliest beaches - Pantai Pasir Panjang. The hidden beach in Penang whereby it filled with some locals who go for picnic, swimming, fishing and others. Besides that, the Kem Bina Negara Balik Pulau was located beside the beach. 

Location: Pulau Betong, 11000 Balik Pulau, Penang. 

           Late Lunch - Balik Kampung at Balik Pulau. 'Balik Kampung' is the malay language state that back to hometown mean. It's a good place for people to experience the traditional way of life, village style of activities and to be more close to the nature. The provided the bicycle rental service, tour packages, boat-paddling activity and also F&B dining area. The nearest destination are the paddy field,  mangrove forest. fishing village and sunset.

** Due to the bad weather during evening, so that we decided to leave Balik Kampung at Balik Pulau at 5.00pm because the rain still on going. As the bicycle tour arrange early was also been cancel. So that, we could't enjoy the sight seeing of the paddy field, mangrove forest and the sunset. We promise that one day we will come back again and explore more of this south-west of Penang island. 😀
